A festival of short films on peace,
held in conjunction with the Commemoration of Hiroshima Day
CALL FOR FILMS
The Inaugural SydneyPeaceFest is a new festival of short films being held in Sydney on the evening of 3 August 2006. Organised by the Hiroshima Day Committee, it will be an annual event held just before Hiroshima Day each year. The venue for the Inaugural SydneyPeaceFest is the Tap Gallery, 278 Palmer Street, Darlinghurst, Sydney.
The topic of the Festival is "Peace" in whatever way you wish to interpret it.
We have three categories of films:
- Under 30 seconds
- Under 7 minutes
- Under 30 minutes
We have five prizes to give away:
- Three 400' rolls of Fuji 16 mm film
- Two 400' rolls of Kodak 16 mm film
- Three Day's free camera hire from Two Legged Dog
- 30% off rate card services (excluding film stock) from Atlab
- A two-day intensive Elective from a large selection at the Sydney Film School
The last prize will be awarded to an emerging film maker. If you wish to be considered an emerging film maker, please tick the box on the Entry Form. All films will be eligible for a People's Choice Award, which will be determined on the night. Films in all genres are encouraged in all categories.
The prizes in all categories will be allocated by the judging and organising panel, whose determination will be final.
Films should be submitted by end of June 2006 together with the Entry Form to

Please note that we are screening DVDs only, and that we require two DVDs per entry, which can be copied for our internal use. There is an entry fee of A$25.00 for each film submitted. Please enclose a cheque made payable to the Hiroshima Day Committee with your application.
